OCTOBER 4- I Corinthians 1:2-“Called to be Saints”
BATTERED YET BLESSED
Battering is part of the process in those valleys no one can see.
Shaping and molding of a vessel is a surprise when I learn it is me.
Changing from what I had been, tarnished without gloss or shine
All that I know of the valley is that the process is His and not mine.
Knowing what I should be is discouraging. Confusion vacillates within.
Only God sees His child as a trophy that His Presence and Process will win.
Some things in the valley are difficult. Many events in life’s valleys are corrupt.
But the God who allows each valley knows how much we can handle and interrupts.
He says, “Stop, this valley is worked over.” He says, “Peace, there’s been enough pain”
God measures the depth of each valley He knows how much holiness will be gained.
Gradually, in submission to His process, silently, unobtrusively, while alone
Peace begins to glow on your countenance, with God in your valley, you are home!

JOURNAL JOTTINGS: Journal what might be considered battering to saints. Write a profile of a present day saint you know. Discover their processes. At what point did PEACE arrive? Does the arrival of Peace ensure that the battering is finished? What value have valleys been to you?
LORD; Thank you for Your PEACE that passes all understanding. Thank you that your PRESENCE, PEACE AND PURPOSE always accompanies trials if we look past the pain of our circumstances. Thank you that Your Presence goes with us and YOU give us rest. Help the battered weary Pilgrims claim these truths today. May they feel lovingly caresses by You today. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN
