PAPER AIRPLANES

Andrew’s paper airplane zoomed across the empty church sanctuary.

“This is a great place to shoot my plane,” Andrew thought.

Just then, Pastor Brian entered the sanctuary. He smiled at Andrew.

“Hey Pastor, do you want to try my airplane. I made it myself and it really glides a long way. I think it will reach the roof if we try.”

Andrew was having a great time. Pastor picked up the airplane that landed at his feet and shot it back to Andrew. Pastor’s strong arms could make it go even further and higher than Andrew had sent it.

“Wow”, said Andrew, “ You really made my airplane go far!”

Pastor Brian shared with the congregation about Andrew’s wonderful airplane.

Pastor said that we are like Andrew’s paper airplane. Andrew lovingly and carefully created it. Each fold and wrinkle had a purpose in it’s creation. He created it to soar! He kept all weights off it so it could fly freely. He released it with joy and encouragement no matter how far it could go or what obstacles were in the way. The potential to fly was more important than the distance covered!

We  are carefully and lovingly made by our Creator. We  can soar as high as our Creator chooses to send us. We are dependent on Him for our strength and destination of flight. If we willingly go where He directs, the Holy Spirit promises to be the strong wind beneath our wings. God wants us to trust Him enough to keep on flying!

Thank you God for a loving Creator who allows us to soar with Your strong Power.

Thank you God for the privilege of soaring where You would lead  us to soar.

May we trust You more freely so that we never miss a flight!

And thank You God for a Pastor that appreciates little boys and their airplanes!

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
