THE BEATITUDES

Matthew 5:10-11- “Blessed are the persecuted….”

Persecution is to afflict constantly so as to injure or distress, especially for reasons of religion, politics or race.

PERSECUTION

Persecution comes in many forms. Some is subtle and is let slip.

Some is a blatant, intentional tool. All hearts involved are ripped.

Historical persecution erupts from hell. Holocausts are rampant with it.

Dictators dictate. Freedoms die. Fear festers and erodes to the quick.

Persecution has no interest in love. Forgiveness is absent as is care.

Help us to guard our hearts from this. Persecution could occur anywhere.

How is persecution conceived? When does this evil begin?

Deep inside the heart of all men is great propensity to sin.

God teach us to dig this evil out. It can begin with an attitude or a thought.

No one notices when bondage comes, or that evil could so easily be bought.

Lord, as we walk this life with You, keep our hearts in the center of Your Will

Vigilant to notice where Truth is lost and cherishing all Godliness still.

Protect our freedoms, our worship and love. Keep us vigilant as we count the cost.

Most important for our fellowman is encouraging folk to follow Your Cross.

The kingdom of heaven is Your Promise for those who are persecuted for You.

Keep our hearts attentive Lord in everything we say and do.

Many before us have stood the test. Many have paid the supreme cost.

Righteousness and truth must prevail or every Godly freedom will be lost.

Thank you Lord for Your wisdom. Keep us alert for You everyday.

So that when we are persecuted, we will respond the Godly Way.
