HELP ME SAY THANK YOU

“Nanny, will you please help me remember to say thank you?” asked little Ashlyn as she was thinking about the coming Christmas gift giving.

“I sometimes forget to say thank you for my presents.”

PLEASE HELP ME

Nanny can you help me. Help me with one thing.

I sometimes forget to say thank you

When I open the gifts that folk bring.

Daddy says that I should do it just as quickly as I can.

I sometimes forget the “thank yous”

Even when that was my plan.

Child, (Nanny cuddles me closely) Child, just speak as you do.

Look at the Giver and speak it.

Simply smile and say “I thank you.”

******

We are all like children at Christmas. We want to say thank you to God.

But life and many activities beckon

And we neglect to give God a nod.

Oh, we are happy and thankful. His Goodness gives us much joy

But like so many children at Christmas,

We neglect to say “thank you” but enjoy.

God knows that our hearts are grateful. He knows every thought, every sigh

But to express our words in the open

Teaches us to praise the Most High.

Gratitude, thanksgiving, what a blessing! We have bountiful gifts from above.

Let’s remind each other to be thankful.

Praise God, the best Giver of Love.
