Matthew 6:6- “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father which is in secret.”

SECRET PRAYER

Secret prayer is such a privilege between my Lord and me.

I think of my Savior bleeding as He hung on Calvary.

No one was there to soothe Him.

No one was there to ease His pain.

He suffered physical agony.
Sin inflicted was Satan’s gain.

It was for me He suffered in silence.

It was for me each drop of blood.

Have I meditated on this act

Long enough for tears to flood?

He chose to suffer for me.

He chose to take my place.

A gift for all reckless sinners

Regardless of creed or race.

Forgive me Lord, for not thinking

About what you did for me.

In times alone in secret

My mind turns  back to Calvary.

My mind dwells on the price you offered.

My mind thinks of the life that died.

My mind marvels at redemption

Because for me You were crucified.

Now in my times of secret

When I am alone with Him

I bow my head in reverence

And my eyes begin to swim!
