SEPTEMBER 25

Matthew 5:41- “Whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

I WANT TO BE…

I want to be a disciple and serve Him day by day.

I want to be a disciple, but presumption blocks my way.

I want to be a disciple. I have good ideas in my head.

I sometimes follow my own drummer, assuming I’m divinely led.

“Now, Lord, You’ve changed the agenda. All my hopes and dreams fell through.

I’m learning about the Grace of Jesus. You’re my authority whatever I do.”

I thought I had creative talent. I know what God’s Kingdom needs.

But God said, “Stop, dear Pilgrim. I prefer you down on your knees.”

And then by His Special Appointment, by direction of the Holy Ghost

He sends us NOT to the uttermost but  right here where we’re needed most.

He has purpose in all His Teaching. His views are far different from ours.

Sometimes God’s Special Assignments are mundane tasks He empowers.

And then….

Because we were obediently faithful.  Because we made no personal demands

Led by the Master producer we found those extra miles were  part of His Plan

POINTS TO PONDER- Sometimes God asks us to do things completely outside our comfort zones. That is when we learn more about the strength and grace found in Him. Sometimes going the extra mile has a cross for us to bear.

My Grace is sufficient for Thee will become our song. Journal the times that you have proved the sufficiency  of His Grace.

Dear Lord, Thank you for pressing me to go the second mile. Thank you for proving yourself in unique ways during those crucibles of life. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
