Luke 9:57-“Lord, I will follow Thee withersoever Thou goest.”

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

OUCH

My Father spoke the truth today. He said, “Abandon what is yours.”

I preferred to hold things tight. Possessiveness I explored.

I felt the Call of God today. But there was a funeral in our town.

I let the grief of someone else interrupt God’s Call. I was bound.

I felt the Call of God today. I’m finally ready to do His Will.

But I have trouble with timidity and my children need me still.

Lord, heal my weak, procrastinating heart.  I want to live for You.

But if I am never ready to serve what will  my Jesus do?

When the Call comes from My Father. I must obey and quickly go.

If I daily keep on serving, the love of God will overflow.

Help me daily, weekly, monthly  prepare to follow Your Call.

So that “withersoever Thou goest” I am surrendered after all.

POINTS TO PONDER- List the excuses used to avoid obedience. What is the anecdote for procrastination? List the service for which God is currently equipping you.

DEAR LORD, Thank you for the privileges of service. Help me to ignore my agenda when You lead me into service. Help me prioritize my responsibilities and to delegate until I am relaxed enough to serve You. Make me a conduit of the Gospel message everywhere I go. In Jesus’  Name, AMEN.
