SEPTEMBER 28
“One thing thou lackest…come, take up the cross, and follow Me.”
Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today
BROKEN
He had no rights, yet he caressed them.
He assumed his famous claim to fame.
His heart turned tenderly towards Jesus
But stubbornness controlled with shame.
Did he ever yield to the Master?
Did he submit in obedience to the cross?
Somehow Jesus’ holiness had impressed him.
But obedience was deemed too high a cost.
One thing, only one thing was lacking.
Life’s possessions were more attractive for him.
Brokenness was all Christ was asking.
Brokenness became overwhelming for him.
Lord, keep me in brokenness surrendered.
Keep me spiritually in the center of Your Will.
So that whenever Your glance rests upon me
I will pick up the cross You’ll fulfill.

POINTS TO PONDER- Read the story in Mark 10. Why is simplicity so difficult for us? Journal the most simplistic yet profound things God has asked you to do. Recall the joy of being in the center of His Will.
DEAR LORD, Thank you for Your Call and Your Gospel. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
