Colossians 1:24- “Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His body’s sake.”

MY CHOICES
I cannot plan the scene of my martyrdom.
That is not my privilege or task.
To choose, “I’ll die for you here, Lord.
But not over there, should You ask.”
I cannot decide my own martyrdom.
It would be stilted, artificial and bold.
I must wait to go where He leads me
Then in obedience, I’ll be totally sold.
I must never choose my own martyrdom.
I will simply wait with patience to be used.
Grapes are planted to grow into usefulness
Wine comes from grapes pressured and bruised.
May I be poured out wine for you, Lord?
Take this vessel and tear it apart.
Only by crushing and bruising
Can God heal the deep hurts of my heart.
So I may not choose my own refining.
I am available and willing to serve.
When I release my entire future to Jesus
I will have privileges more than I deserve.
