SEPTEMBER 7

John 4:14- “The water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water.”

Note- God’s  work is often birthed  through  obscure, unknown yet faithful servants.

Remember to read “My Utmost for His Highest” for Today

OBSCURITY

Out of obscurity flows His Blessings.

Through humility  His  Glory will show.

Out of insignificance He will  elevate.

Until God and God alone we know.

Rivers of His living, fresh water

Flow in deep streams underground.

Nuggets of wisdom are created

Only where obscurity is found.

Obscurity is a position that is offered

As a privilege from the Father Himself.

In obscurity volumes are written

By servants who submit themselves.

If obscurity becomes over ridden

If obscurity attempts to wave a flag

Then all pompous self-righteous attitudes

Carry the stench of old, filthy rags.

So welcome obscurity, Dear Pilgrim.

Welcome being ignored without claim.

The unsung hero is God’s companion

Honoring our dear Savior’s Holy name.

(or They treated the Master the same!)

PONDER- Think of a time when you felt obscure. How did it enrich your spiritual journey? Journal the treasures found in obscurity. Obscurity might be an attitude, a position or a season.  Be alert to insignificant folk in your life. Learn from them. Watch for sacred surprises.

Dear Lord, Thank you for the season of obscurity that you are leading me into. Keep me teachable in every spiritual season of life. Help me to treasure the unsung heroes in every walk of life. May I become an encourager to the least and the obscure. In Jesus ‘ Name, Amen.
