TO ME FROM ME
Rene and Grandma Sandi finished wrapping the last gift for Christmas. They had been working all day preparing hand- painted craft gifts for Rene’s family and friends. They were all wrapped and labeled.
As Grandma stood up to bring the milk and cookies tray when she noticed one gift not wrapped.
Grandma said, “Oh, Rene, you have one too many. Who did we forget?”
“We didn’t forget anyone, Grandma. It’s for me, replied Rene as she sheepishly turned it upside down.
It was then that Grandma noticed Rene’s printing on the back of the gift.
Rene had written, “To Rene with love from Rene”.”
“I liked them so much I made one for myself. Is that okay, Grandma?”
“Of course it is Honey,” replied Grandma. “The Bible says that we should love ourselves and I think that includes giving yourself a gift once in a while.
I guess it isn’t a surprise, though, is it?”
*********
The Bible says, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” If you can’t love yourself then how on earth are you going to love your neighbor?
A lot of people don’t even like themselves, never mind trying to LOVE themselves.
Maybe when they were younger, someone spoke harsh words or had mean attitudes that made them feel that they were less than treasured. This evil is an affront to the creativity of God.
It you don’t like yourself, you are quarreling with God’s design of you. You are believing the words or attitudes or another human being as a true assessment of yourself.
Stop insulting the Lord and begin by admiring the creation you are and are becoming through His Presence, Peace and Purpose. Enjoy who you are in Him. He created you and He loves you and so does Nanny!
James 1:17- “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth. Did you know that YOU are a treasure in earthen vessel?
*YOU ARE GOD’S BEST GIFT TO YOUR SPHERE OF LIVING TODAY*
PS. Make or buy a treat for yourself to day. Put a tag on it, “To me with love from GOD”
