UNCLE FRED’S DESSERTS

A visit to Aunt Sue’s and Uncle Fred’s always included one of Aunt Sue’s home cooked dinners. Uncle Fred had a life long habit of eating his dessert FIRST while everyone else ate the main course.  (He invented the first Backwards party!)

Because of Uncle Fred, kids had a sneak preview of Aunt Sue’s yummy desserts.  He was ahead of his time. He was the first to break the traditional law  of,  “clean up your plate or no  dessert”.  Uncle Fred got his dessert whether he deserved it or not!

Yea, Uncle Fred!

This made a BIG impact on us kids. If Aunt Sue’s apple pie was on the menu we lightened up on veggies guaranteeing enough space for more than one piece of pie.

We learned that advance information equips a vessel to receive.

I Corinthians 2: 9- “ No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what (“desserts”) God has prepared for those who love Him.

In the mundane menus of life, don’t forget to save space for God’s desserts!

Remember, God’s love is unconditional…we don’t have to “clean up” anything to be blessed.

PS. Aunt Sue figured out what was important to Uncle Fred and blessed him with it.

God does the same thing. Watch for His desserts!
