BUT I VISIT TWICE A WEEK

My kids are moved and settled. They say they like the place.

I’m glad their street is quiet. And the park has space to race.

Our divorce-it still is pending. And joint custody I seek.

My life with her is over but I can visit twice a week.

The kids are quiet and helpful. They seem to have lost their spunk.

Too bad they had to listen to their Mother explain the junk.

I told her to tell them gently. I would not say a word.

Her child-like ways are better as she explained the stuff they heard.

They wondered why I left them and people talked a lot.

They’d heard some gossip and stories. It really has to stop.

She told them  I dearly love them. She told them where I moved.

She told them she’d stay forever. Daddy wanted his life to improve.

With a simple explanation, kids are quick to understand.

My life with her was stifled and I need to be my own man.

I want to travel further than three kids with a wife can go.

I want to see the world and spend time with people I know.

I have lots of talent and ambition without three kids and a wife

I’d like to start my own business and have a worthwhile life.

My wife, she spoke so quiet. Her heart was bleeding inside.

She told me in loving silence that  she  would always be my bride.

I guess I don’t deserve it.

I guess I am far too weak.

I closed their door in silence.

But, I can visit twice a week!
